They are excellent opportunities for students to experience exam conditions and get an indicator of their progress and likely grade in the real exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When are mock exams?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students in Year 11 and Year 13 will almost definitely be required to sit mock exams and they are also common for Year 10 and Year 12 students. Younger students may have mock assessments for end-of-year exams, but these are set by schools and not part of GCSE qualifications.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every school sets their own dates for mock exams, they are not set by exam boards themselves (e.g. AQA, Edexcel, OCR). As the examination period for the real exams spans from May to June, many secondary schools choose to hold mocks in January to give students ample time over the Christmas holidays to revise, and then sufficient time afterwards for them to make any necessary progress to improve their grades.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Year 10 mocks are often in July&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Year 11 mocks are often in December\/January<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Year 12 mocks are often in June\/July, and sometimes also December\/January<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Year 13 mocks are often in December\/January<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schools often hold a week or two of mock exams to reflect the real, intense schedule of GCSE or A level examinations. Students may be taken \u2018off timetable\u2019 for this period, and their days filled with mocks and revision sessions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What are mocks for?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are five main purposes of mock exams:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To give students the experience of exam conditions, such as: working in a large room, being timed, and perhaps being invigilated (supervised by external staff).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>To simulate a real exam, including taking a whole paper at once and remembering all the important information.&nbsp;<\/li><li>To give students a mock exam grade which is an indicator of their level and progress.<\/li><li>To identify gaps in students\u2019 knowledge to direct their revision and teachers\u2019 support.<\/li><li>To test whether students\u2019 revision strategies so far have been successful.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Mock exam grades may just be used internally within the school, but some schools use mock exam grades to inform students\u2019 predicted grades, particularly at A level. Predicted grades are <strong>very important<\/strong>. Predicted grades are included in students\u2019 UCAS applications and are used by universities to offer places.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Are mocks important?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Whilst mock exams are just practices for the real thing, they are still very important, particularly if the results will be used to decide A level predicted grades. Mock grades are also used in cases where the exam can&#8217;t take place, such as during covid, or special individual circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aside from this, they are also an important marker in students\u2019 preparation for their final exams. Good results in mocks are encouraging and help students feel prepared. Disappointing results can be disheartening and demotivating. Either way, the results will reveal any gaps in knowledge and enable students to more effectively target their revision.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to prepare for mock exams?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of how important mock exams are, students should always revise for them. How much students should revise depends on which mocks they are preparing for, how much content they have to remember, and also their individual learning habits and memory.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important that students create a revision timetable at least two months before mock exams to ensure they have plenty of time to prepare in a relaxed manner. Repetition is key to retention and the more time they have, the more times they can revise the information, meaning a higher chance of success.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subject teachers should also provide students with support and direction for their revision. At the end of the day, they are mocks: practices. The most important thing to do with a disappointing mock result is learn from it! \u5e74\u7d1a\u7684\u5b78\u751f\u5e7e\u4e4e\u90fd\u6703\u88ab\u8981\u6c42\u53c3\u52a0\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\uff0c10 \u5e74\u7d1a\u548c 12 \u5e74\u7d1a\u7684\u5b78\u751f\u8003\u6a21\u64ec\u8a66\u5377\u7684\u60c5\u6cc1\u4e5f\u5f88\u5e38\u898b\u3002\u5e74\u9f61\u8f03\u5c0f\u7684\u5b78\u751f\u5247\u53ef\u80fd\u6703\u53c3\u52a0\u5e74\u7d42\u8003\u8a66\u7684\u6a21\u64ec\u8a55\u4f30\uff0c\u4f46\u9019\u4e9b\u6a21\u64ec\u8a55\u4f30\u662f\u7531\u5b78\u6821\u5236\u5b9a\u7684\uff0c\u800c\u975eGCSE\u8003\u6838\u7684\u4e00\u90e8\u5206\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u6bcf\u6240\u5b78\u6821\u90fd\u6703\u5236\u5b9a\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\u65e5\u671f\uff0c\u800c\u4e0d\u662f\u7531\u8003\u8a66\u59d4\u54e1\u6703\u898f\u5b9a\uff08\u4f8b\u5982 AQA\u3001Edexcel\u3001OCR\uff09\u3002\u7531\u65bc\u771f\u6b63\u8003\u8a66\u7684\u8003\u8a66\u671f\u5927\u7d04\u5728\u4e94\u6708\u5230\u516d\u6708\uff0c\u8a31\u591a\u4e2d\u5b78\u90fd\u6703\u9078\u64c7\u5728\u4e00\u6708\u8209\u884c\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\uff0c\u4ee5\u4fbf\u5b78\u751f\u5728\u8056\u8a95\u5047\u671f\u9593\u6709\u5145\u8db3\u7684\u6642\u9593\u8907\u7fd2\u548c\u6539\u9032\uff0c\u4ee5\u63d0\u9ad8\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u6210\u7e3e\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10 \u5e74\u7d1a\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\u901a\u5e38\u5728 12 \u6708\/1 \u6708\u9032\u884c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u5b78\u6821\u901a\u5e38\u6703\u8209\u8fa6\u4e00\u5230\u5169\u9031\u7684\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\uff0c\u4ee5\u6a21\u64ec GCSE \u6216 A Level \u8003\u8a66\u90a3\u7a2e\u771f\u5be6\u3001\u7dca\u5f35\u7684\u8003\u8a66\u65e5\u7a0b\u3002\u5728\u9019\u6bb5\u671f\u9593\uff0c\u5b78\u751f\u53ef\u80fd\u6703\u88ab\u300c\u53d6\u6d88\u6642\u9593\u8868\u300d\uff0c\u56e0\u70ba\u4ed6\u5011\u6bcf\u5929\u90fd\u5c07\u5145\u6eff\u4e86\u6a21\u64ec\u548c\u8907\u7fd2\u8ab2\u7a0b\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\u6709\u751a\u9ebc\u7528\uff1f\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\u6709\u4e94\u500b\u4e3b\u8981\u76ee\u7684\uff1a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u8b93\u5b78\u751f\u9ad4\u9a57\u8003\u8a66\u6c1b\u570d\uff0c\u4f8b\u5982\uff1a\u5728\u5927\u623f\u9593\u5167\u61c9\u8a66\u3001\u9762\u5c0d\u8a08\u6642\u3001\u53ef\u80fd\u9084\u6703\u611f\u53d7\u88ab\u76e3\u8003\uff08\u7531\u5916\u90e8\u4eba\u54e1\u76e3\u7763\uff09\u3002<\/li><li>\u6a21\u64ec\u771f\u5be6\u8003\u8a66\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u5b8c\u6210\u4e00\u6574\u7bc7\u8a66\u5377\u4e26\u8a18\u4f4f\u6240\u6709\u91cd\u8981\u8cc7\u8a0a\u3002<\/li><li>\u70ba\u5b78\u751f\u63d0\u4f9b\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\u6210\u7e3e\uff0c\u4f5c\u70ba\u53cd\u6620\u4ed6\u5011\u7a0b\u5ea6\u548c\u9032\u6b65\u7a7a\u9593\u7684\u6307\u6a19\u3002<\/li><li>\u627e\u51fa\u5b78\u751f\u7684\u5b78\u7fd2\u5dee\u8ddd\uff0c\u4ee5\u6307\u5c0e\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u8907\u7fd2\u65b9\u5411\u548c\u5982\u4f55\u5c0b\u627e\u8001\u5e2b\u7684\u5354\u52a9\u3002<\/li><li>\u6e2c\u8a66\u5230\u76ee\u524d\u70ba\u6b62\u5b78\u751f\u7684\u8907\u7fd2\u7b56\u7565\u662f\u5426\u6210\u529f\u3002<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\u6210\u7e3e\u53ef\u80fd\u53ea\u9069\u7528\u65bc\u5b78\u6821\u5167\u90e8\uff0c\u4f46\u6709\u4e9b\u5b78\u6821\u6703\u7528\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\u6210\u7e3e\u4f86\u4f5c\u70ba\u5b78\u751f\u7684\u9810\u6e2c\u6210\u7e3e\uff08Predicted grades\uff09\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u662f A Level \u6210\u7e3e\u3002 <strong>\u9810\u6e2c\u6210\u7e3e\uff08Predicted grades\uff09\u975e\u5e38\u91cd\u8981<\/strong>\u3002 \u56e0\u70ba\u9810\u6e2c\u6210\u7e3e\u5305\u542b\u5728\u5b78\u751f\u7684 UCAS \u7533\u8acb\u4e2d\uff0c\u4e26\u88ab\u5927\u5b78\u7528\u4f86\u8003\u616e\u9304\u53d6\u540d\u984d\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\u91cd\u8981\u55ce\uff1f<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u96d6\u7136\u6a21\u64ec\u8003\u8a66\u53ea\u662f\u771f\u5be6\u8003\u8a66\u7684\u4e00\u6b21\u7df4\u7fd2\uff0c\u4f46\u5b83\u5011\u4ecd\u7136\u975e\u5e38\u91cd\u8981\uff0c\u7279\u5225\u662f\u5728\u8003\u8a66\u7d50\u679c\u5c07\u7528\u65bc\u4ee3\u8868 A level
