If your UCAS application is successful, you will be asked to attend an interview at either Oxford or Cambridge. Interviews are usually held in early December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although Oxbridge interviews are infamous for being daunting experiences, you should try to approach them as an opportunity to discuss your chosen subject and express your genuine enthusiasm for the subject. They are also a wonderful opportunity to visit the city and get a sense of whether you could see yourself living and studying there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you are applying for a humanities subject, it is likely you will be given a short text to read 15-30 minutes before your interview. Your interviewer will ask you questions about the meaning of this text and your opinion of it. When reading<\/p>\n\n\n\n
your interview text, it is helpful to consider the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Why might they have written it? What is (or was, if it\u2019s a historical text) its purpose?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are applying for a science or mathematical subject, you may be given a question or problem to solve in your interview. You should solve this out loud and talk through your logic. With these questions\/problems, it is not always necessary to get to the correct answer. The interviewer is more interested in your thought process and whether you can apply your existing knowledge to a new topic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
